No, it's not. It was made with WB 3.1 in mind and animated app icons did not exist then. LimpidClock is just a normal window. It only stores the graphics "behind" the window before it opens, so that transparency can be simulated.

I admit it needs a lot CPU time for drawing. But I don't see how a drawing program can make the mouse pointer jerky or something. It uses Blt#?, Area#?, Text and if antialiasing is enabled for the clock it also used Read/WritePixelArray. No explicit lock or so.

If LimpidClock needs updating, somebody first has to explain what needs to be updated. I think I don't need to mention that I do not experience jerkyness.

@Thomas

"that I do not experience jerkyness."

With LimpidClock under OS4 FE ?

I don't use LimpidClock but nevertheless I experience jerky mouse under FE (and not under 4.1.6)...

Hi,

Bumping this topic since I've just installed a Radeon HD 7770 in my X1000 to take advantage of Warp3D (thus replacing my Radeon HD 4650). And I'm now experiencing again the jerky mouse trouble when CPU hits 100%. My card is about the same as zzd10h's.

Is someone working on this specific topic ?

Please add full transparency in Limpid Clock

Good question, is someone works / reproduced this annoying problem ?
Thank you os4 devs (at least for a reply)

I don't have limpidclock installed, but lots of Dockies that do real time display (zDockies)

I experience the jerky/sticky/jumpy mouse behaviour aswell, but only when i compile something which maxes the cpu.

Not sure if it's related, but i don't remember having such issues before FE.

SFS on all partitions except the boot.of one

I'm sorry to discover that you guys never got a confirmation of this issue from OS4 beta testers/devs. So, let me confirm: yes, beta testers have replicated this issue, and yes, it has been logged (a while back).

K-L guessed right, it is DMA (and text rendering) related. I can't say when a fix will be released, sorry.

Hans
