A little typo into the AmiGS version distributed with AmigaOS 4.1 FE
"src/AmiGS 1.17" --> instead of "AmiGS 1.17"
Both typo is present in about window and version, see grab

Thanks.
There is already a bug registered for this in Bugzilla.
Best regards,
Niels

Then does it was fixed at the end ?
It's really an easy thing, just simple typos to remove from "AmiGS_Rev.h" file

Re: Wrong version in AmiGS
My personal guess (and what I would decide myself if it was up to me): Nobody is going to fix this unless there is something more important that needs fixing in the program, because it is not just a matter of correcting a small typo.
After that you have to build, test, review, release for beta testing etc. etc. (and those are only the steps I know about - there may be others).
So don't hold your breath. The report is there, and if/when somebody touches the program, it will most likely be fixed at the same time.
Best regards,
Niels

Re: Wrong version in AmiGS
It's open source you can fix it yourself if you really need to.
AS a clue it's It's not a simple typo, it's an error in the makefile line that calls bumprev

Looks like Franz Kafka can easily take over the OS4 development now, the result will be the same.So don't hold your breath. The report is there, and if/when somebody touches the program, it will most likely be fixed at the same time.

Sorry, didn't get that one. Maybe I don't know enough of his works.trixie wrote:Looks like Franz Kafka can easily take over the OS4 development now, the result will be the same.

Re: Wrong version in AmiGS
Yes, I know who Franz Kafka is, thank you.
I just don't know what in connection with him can explain the statement about him taking over the OS4 development.
Well, he's dead, of course, but was that the point of Trixie's remark?
And as further clarification of my previous post:
1. I have nothing at all to do with prioritizing the development work.
2. I just meant that it seems natural to me if a very unharmful bug like this one is not fixed until there is another, more serious reason to touch the program in question. That is my personal opinion, and the way I have been used to prioritize (or have others prioritize for me) during my carreer within IT.
3. I do not feel that stating this in any way hints anything about whether other bugs are being fixed and other development is happening at present time.
4. See 1.
Best regards,
Niels

Re: Wrong version in AmiGS
I thought it was quite obvious. Hyperion hire a team of developers producing updates that never get released, and a team of betatesters reporting bugs that end up duly registered but never fixed. A typical Kafka-esque world in which a closed system was established that works by itself and for itself, without any apparent benefit for people outside that system.nbache wrote:but was that the point of Trixie's remark?
