Hi guys,
Here is one for the development team. A-eons Amiga mouse has a scroll wheel that not only scrolls up and down, but left and right as well.
Is there any support for Scroll Left or Scroll Right yet at OS-level? Having left and right scrolling can be useful on occasion; for example.
a) Scrolling around web pages that extended beyond the horizontal - aka they've been resized or content doesn't fit.
b) Scrolling around large images that have been zoomed into, foreinstance I have used it in Adobe AI and PS.
Mouse Scroll Wheel - fully exploited?
Re: Mouse Scroll Wheel - fully exploited?
Yes, OS4 has support for horizontal mouse wheel scrolling and the texteditor Annotate supports it.
Re: Mouse Scroll Wheel - fully exploited?
As far as I know, A-Eon's mice do not support left/right scrolling (actually it's a rebadged Logitech RX-250).

One way to find out, I'll plug into my Mac Mini and run PS - soon find out.K-L wrote:As far as I know, A-Eon's mice do not support left/right scrolling (actually it's a rebadged Logitech RX-250).

@djrikki
PictureAlbum should support left/right scroll-wheel, although I have not been able to test this myself. I guess not many developers have such mice, so they may not think to add left/right support to their apps.

Re: Mouse Scroll Wheel - fully exploited?
Well I've just read my post above; forgot to try it. Job for tomorrow now, time for some fun, got some movies to watch.
Chris, left and right on scroll wheel is rarely used in software in general. I don't think its just me, but Its not really immediately obvious that a mouse can can go left and right is it?
Having said that, if its supported in AmigaOS - I just have to convince Andreas to support it in Hollywood now ^.^

Re: Mouse Scroll Wheel - fully exploited?
It is definitely supported in OS4. NetSurf has support - probably more by accident than anything else - but this is untested, so it may well scroll the opposite way than it should.djrikki wrote:Well I've just read my post above; forgot to try it.
