Dear all,

I have tried to download the OS4.1FE update file on my Amiga and PC, in both cases my Amiga reports that the file, one of the MUI .info files is corrupt.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Pic says a thousand words....

I hope.... Imgur would not play with me, so you'll have to copy and paste the url, sorry about that.

Hello musicmon,

Your image URL doesn't seem to work - I can't open the picture.

I assume you've downloaded the file 'AmigaOS4.1FinalEditionUpdate1.lha' from the Hyperion web site. Please check that the file's checksum is d393cc6cee8abd228737dbcdc89fd079.

You can do that by entering the following command in Shell:
md5sum AmigaOS4.1FinalEditionUpdate1.lha

Do you get the notification when unarchiving the lha package or when installing the update?

Yes sorry about the image I just cant get Imgur to behave, it keeps asking if I am a robot, and then after doing this 4,5 times takes me to post another image, with no way of getting back to the one I have just added..grrr..

Anyway to answer your questions.

I get the error when unarchiving the package, not installing the update.

Trying the image again... Image

And it worked, there are two combined.

My checksum is different - c932ab81d27393cab80033e4e2d0c4 which is odd as I have downloaded it from the secure Hyperion site.

I really don't get this.

It looks to me that your download was interrupted for some reason and you didn't get the whole file.

I had no trouble downloading the update from the Hyperion's site. The size of the complete 'AmigaOS4.1FinalEditionUpdate1.lha' file is 24 222 100 bytes and UnArc says it contains 3 403 files (63.8 MB of data).

I can confirm Spektro's figures (checksum, size, contents, etc). I agree that you ought to try downloading it again, from fresh.

And try a different browser...

Hi,

Many thanks for the replies. I re-downloaded (I had tried OWB and Firefox before initially posting). This time I got a file that was 2,422,100 bytes.

The install worked right up to the very last file, a text file listing the contributes and then the Amiga hung. I could move windows but not close them, or start any other apps.

I rebooted and my menu bar now says - AmigaOS Release 4.1 -Final Edition Update 1, with some info on the ppc its ram and the graphics card.

So I'm guessing the update worked? Is there any way I can test it has?

I'm not a 'Classic Amiga tester' but probably you're OK despite of the hang. On AmigaOne no text file is displayed at the end. You just click the Finish button on the final Installation Utility page and you're done.

You can try starting AmiUpdate and see if it finds anything to update.
