OS4.1FE did not start.

After installing OS4.1FE did not start.
I have OS4.1 instaled on a blank hard drive with 700MB on a AmigaOne XE.
At the start from the HD the startup screen will displayed, and then does not happen anymore. :(

Is the partition marked as bootable in MediaToolbox?

Yes, OS 4.0 runs on this partition. I have only delete the next partition, make the first partition bigger and install OS4.1.
DosType = DOS\07
block size = 512

After the problens with OS4.1 I copy the old OS4.0 back to the partition and its run fine.

See my recient topic "Final Edition Boot Oddity."

FE sees more boot options than earlier versions. This could be a problem for most NG systems.
No matter what NG Thingamabob their running on. :roll:

If you're going to use FFS on a harddrive partition you might want to use a bigger block size like 2048.

Any chance you can post the serial output during booting?

It is pretty much impossible to tell what is going wrong without some more info.

Also Oliver, what is your location? If you are in USA, perhaps I can help.

@Oliver:

Please don't take offence at this, but it's the silly things that trip us up when we forget about them.

U-Boot will load Kickstart from the first partition it sees. If you have two or three "Bootable" partitions on the one disk, then Kickstart will be loaded from the first one, no matter how old it is.
Once Kickstart has been loaded, the OS4 System will be booted (that is, Startup-sequence will be read and libraries loaded from) the bootable partition with the highest boot priority.

It is quite likely that you are reading Kickstart modules from one partition and loading libraries etc from another. It might have been running that way for a long while - if you have two or more partitions with very similar Kickstart directories, you would not even notice.

For safety, the new partition on which you have installed OS4 should be the ONLY Bootable partition on that drive. Using MTB, switch off the "Bootable" flag on every other partition. You can still boot from the CD and run MTB from there to make changes.

Oliver, so it can load the Kickstart, displays the boot logo and stops? Do you see any bootable drives if you load up the early start menu? Both mouse buttions held down after Kickstart loads will do it. Can also soft reboot and do it like on a regular Amiga.
