Hello Amiga Fans!
I hope you can help me with an issue related to changing the gfx card .
I have a sam440ep and an ati 9250 pci gfx card installed.
Now I got an ati 9200 pci gfxcard. I installed it and now there are only
Low gfx modes available.
How can I tell the system to use it withthe correct driver?
Is that possible at all or do I have to reinstall
the os completely new?
THANX IN ADVANCE GUYS!!
Andi

Re: changing gfx card and driver
If you have DDC enabled, there is nothing else you should ever have to do.
Open Devs/Monitors. Click on Radeon and look at the "icon" tab.
Is the "DDCMODE=ALL" line in parentheses (disabled) or does it have no parentheses around it (enabled)?
If it has parentheses, take them out. Same thing with the line that says "INTERRUPT=YES". Leave out the parentheses. Upper/lower case is unimportant.
That should be all you have to do. But any Screens that you have defined (eg special screens for OWB or other apps) will have to be edited when the new card is running. You will have to open Prefs/Screens and change the screen mode to what you want.

@fastbit66
You probably have a monitor file in "DEVS:Monitors/" called "Radeon 9250". Try renaming that to "Radeon 9200", and changing the BOARDNAME tool-type to "Radeon 9200" as well. If that fails, rename the file to "Radeon", set the BOARDNAME tool-type to "Radeon" and the CMPLENGTH tool-type to 6.
When the system boots, Picasso96 is looking for a monitor file whose name and BOARDNAME matches the name of the primary graphics card. So, if the graphics card is swapped for another one, then the monitor file containing the settings will also have to be changed (or a new file created, monitor files without matching hardware are ignored).
