I *think* ACube is handling this, so it doesn't really belong here. Correct me if I am wrong.jacknife wrote:When will it be ?

Okay I just tried the beta version released today on OS4Depot and this has opened another can of worms - for me at least.
There has been a lot of debate about the current publicly available version of AmigaOS lacking in the USB2 support department, BUT most of this talk is concerning storage devices.
This driver seems to only cater atm for sound output through old-style jack connection. I was hoping for USB speaker support. Clearly AmigaOS has some functionality in place because when I plugged the speakers in AmigaOS correctly identified them.
So what is the current state of affairs? Is this a temporary limitation in the current driver or a problem with AHI itself? Do USB speakers normally work correctly on other AmigaOS compatible hardware configurations?

AFAIK sound output through USB (aka "USB speakers") were never ever supported on any hardware platform by AmigaOS and/or AHI.

Re: sam460ex audio driver ??
The driver supports the built-in audio hardware. USB audio is an entirely different animal.djrikki wrote:This driver seems to only cater atm for sound output through old-style jack connection. I was hoping for USB speaker support.

@djrikki
USB sound might make sense once we have USB2 (and hence enough bandwidth for it to not noticably affect anything else), but I have a hard time imagining why anyone would choose USB sound, so I guess it would get a rather low priority.
