Warp3D DSI crash in OS4.1u3 on Sam440ep-flex [SOLVED]

Post by marko »

I've run into some problems in Update 3, that I didn't have before in Update 2 on my Sam440ep-flex :?

When I tried to start games like Cube and Lugaru I got a lot of grims :o
So I commented the "Kickstart/3dfxVoodoo.chip" in the kicklayout and it seems I got rid of most of those crashes, except a DSI crash in the Warp3D.library. Ignoring it locks the system... :(

Any suggestions how to fix the DSI crash in Warp3D.library on my Sam???

My system:
Sam440ep-flex, 800MHz, Radeon 9250, 1GB RAM - AmigaOS 4.1 Update 3

Where can these distributions be obtained?

I can try and reproduce your problem on my 733Mhz Flex, if I can't I may have to re-install my 800Mhz MB.

I tried out Cube on my sam-flex 733 with radeon 9250 And got no crashes.

Maybe you could post some of the original crash logs? They may give some clues.

@broadblues

No crashes for you... hmmm :/
original crash logs?
Do you mean those crashlogs before I commented the "Kickstart/3dfxVoodoo.chip" line in the kicklayout?

Okej, I did some bug hunting and... I solved it, hurray!!! :D

Luckily I have all 3rd-party stuff (libraries, sobs, c etc) separated from the SYS: in there own drawers which I then "multi" assign in the startup-sequence...

So, I tried to disable some assigns and got both games working just fine! The issue was some 3rd-party library, I don't know which one (yet), but anyway it works now! Thanks for the help :) :)

Thanks :) As a continuation I tried to hunt down the "suspected" 3rd-party library that it causing the crash/crashes ... And it turned out none of them is actually causing it :O

Instead there seems to be an issue with my double assigns to Libs: :?

I created a new thread for this:
