Problem Installing SYBA SD-PEX63034 7.1 (ENVY 24DT) Sound

Postby DjCook » Sat Nov 07, 2015 4:47 pm

Hello guys,
I have already described my problem here http://forum.hyperion-entertainment.biz/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2672#p35638
But i was not able to solve it that way, so i decided to start new topic with a hope that someone can halp me....

I've bought a SAM460cr Motherboardand with AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition, built my system, some days later and dozens of non working keyboards i was finally able to install the system. I've also bought a Radeon HD driver and my sil3114 card seems to be working fine...
However i have a problem with my SYBA 7.1 sound card,
http://www.sybausa.com/productInfo.php?iid=1201 |(that is the Audio Card i have) i see that my card is Based on VIA VT1723 Envy24DT Multi-channel Audio Controller, Based on VIA VT1618 8-channel AC'97 Codec, but in the Audio setup i can see only ENVY 24HT. Is there a difference between 24HT and 24DT cards??
i can't let the system see it and Ranger shows no driver for that device. have done it like lozspd4: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1891
but with no luck. AHI does see Envy 24HT and lets me change the values but nothing happends... Can someone with identical card tell me what exacly i need to change or copy, to let it work please?
Mine looks exacly like this one:
http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/vie ... at&order=0 (actually i've bought it because i was for sure it may work out of the box)
Why can't see any values for ENVY 24DT Card in my Audio preferences? Should i delete all other drivers?
I'm stuck and im out of any ideas, but i have seen that this card works on some systems without any problem, maybe i do something wrong?
Cheers,
Cook

Just wanted to add:
i've bought another Audio Card:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/361175391100

and tryed to install it exacly as User lozspd4 dicribed here:
viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1891

No luck, no sound at all, the Ranger reports two Audio systems, both has N/A in Driver field. It means that i am doing something wrong, or PCIX slot isn't working properly (however i can see, that digital audio otput light is on)..
Is here a step by step manual for setting up an Audio card around here?
Can someone give me advice please what files must present and where to make Audio work, so i can check all of them. or better maybe it is possible to upload the archieve some where, maybe mine got corrupted in some strange way...
many thanks,
Cook

Download the working ahi.prefs file linked below then load it using the open menu option in AHI preferences .
Then test by clicking on the Play a test sound button,

Thank You very much, i was able to downoad the file and load it in ahi (was courious that You have used 32 bit instread of 16 bit, and 32 Channels not 2..) but unfortunately it doesen't helped me to hear anything.. I still think that my system doesen't see any drviver for my card, or maybe my vendor ID is different.. Here is the picture from Ranger:

Your ranger output is correct.
Are you sure that your speakers are connected to the right connector for output ?

ohh... I was sure it need to look like this:
Image
where You can see VIA Technologies as a Vendor
and another string with device name..
So i just tryed to connect my stereo cable to all outputs - there is no sound, initially it was connected to the green connector:

You need to copy the pci.ids file in the Ranger archive to the Devs: directory to get the detailed text display in Ranger.

Thank You Spectre660!
Any idea where can i oobain this pci.ids file?
Can it be that this card need ENVY24DT instread of 24HT? Does it make any difference? I'm asking because i think it's very strange, it can be that both cards are faulty, but i am pretty sure it's me that makes somwething wrong..
i just don't know where to start.. I have checked The Cable I've inserted in Audio Card, and i also replugged the Audio Card itself but it just doesen't make any sound..

The pc.ids file is include in the Ranger.lha file.
have you tried a different output device like headphones ?
The best place to check the actual sound is the AHI.preferences tool button "Play a test sound"
The green should be the correct connector.

Try the following after booting.

From a cli type
dumpdebugbuffer ram:debug.txt

have a look at the debug.txt file in ram:

at the end of the file you should see some text like this :

No CMI8738 found! :-(
No Envy24 found! :-(
Envy24HT: Card found
No FM801 found! :-(
No SB128 found! :-(
SM502: Card found
No SOLO_ONE found! :-(
No cards found! :-(
