Another thing worth a quick try before giving up on the 1920×1200 mode over DVI is adding RB+ to the mode specification.

It might be enough to make it work more smoothly.

Best regards,

Niels

I'll give that a try! This Sam is giving me the opportunity to get a little deeper in software/hardware configs and settings that I would probably not have done with the X1000, otherwise. Thanks for all the input!
I am still dumb-founded about the jumper wire neatly installed on the bottom side of the board. I will find out the pin-out and snap a picture. I really only want to know if it "Is", in fact, ACube or a MOD or both. This Sam has been through it. Just trying to "nurse" it back to the best it can get. I'm learnin' about the Sam 460ex as well.
Thanks Niels.

Cheers!!

Thanks for the input from all!!
No soldering iron necessary. No more name calling! :D

Since I have replaced the RAM Module with the correct type I have totally disregarded DDR2 Boost. It didn't work at all with the wrong RAM module that was in the Sam when I got it. U-Boot now saves the setting. That helps. Screenmode set at 1440 X 900 helps. Using the Micro SD card instead of the SATA HD was a great improvement along with getting SFS/02 out of my head and Partitioning with SFS/00. So I can call this case closed. Using Odyssey as a benchmark, I got this Amiga to the point of, at the least, playing YouTube audio smoothly while disregarding video playback. Nice! Now I just need to pick a lighter browser for it and things will be fine. Frustration at bay now, I can stop calling my Sam460ex names as well. It went from a hobby box to a working NG Amiga. Thank you all for the push in the right direction. I learnt somethin'. Never too old!

Cheers and Hat's Off!!

John
