AOS4.1 Final Edition does not start

Postby Reth » Sun Jun 21, 2015 8:57 pm

Hi everybody,

when I try to boot AOS4.1FE from CD Bootloader starts and entire kickstart is loaded. But then nothing else happens anymore AOS4.1FE does not boot further.
Any idea what goes wrong here and what to try?

Many thanks in advance!

Bye

Do you still have this problem?
Which drives are shown in bootmenu?

As a betatester, you should have a serial terminal connected so that you can capture the serial debug output. With that output, you should be able to see what is going wrong.

Hello,
I have experienced the same behavior with my Peg2 board. Serial terminal didn't show anything useful to debug, but in my case it depended on Peg2 firmware: I had rev. 1.0, strings colors weren't correctly recognized and booting hung after loading Kickstart in text mode without switching to graphics but upgrading to 1.1 Smartfirmware fixed the issue.

Hope this helps.

Hi again,

since my safe backup also hung on startup I inserted AOS4.1 FE CD into PegII these days and this time it booted flawlessly so that I was able to install it.
Thank you for your support!
