I have tested it with ftp now, i used wget and i get the same result every time.
Downloading one single file seems to be no problem, i downloaded an DVD iso 2 times without problem at about 1.5MB/s
Downloading 4 files at the same time made the network stall after a few houndred MB's every time. So very easy to reproduce.

If anyone is intrested i will test more and see if this happends also when downloading 2 or 3 files at the same time and if the networkload is involved.

Seems that for some weird reason was a fault related to pftp...I tryed with AmiTradeCenter and the download from the computer with the ftp server was successfully completeted without locks...however was really weird that pftp dont work anymore before the problem it worked...
Also was weird that I have only a 600kb/s speed where I have to get about 5MB/s like on my old home where dont have a cabled eth net but only some eth wires from my computers and the router...

Hello all,

I can easily reproduce a crash of my TCP/IP stack in ALL AmigaOS4.1 releases I tested.
Using the VIA Interface and PFTP 1.2 I can connect to my Mac FTP, start downloading,
after a while PFTP is still active, but network connection is dead.

If I open a shell and enter "netshutdown" the TCP/IP stack crash.

I installed Debian 6.0.5 and tested it there and everything is working fine with full speed.

Then I bought a network card with RTL8139D Chipset, but using this driver I got only a
speed from less 8000 cps. Starting again Linux Debian, the card is working fine with full speed...

My PEG-II is one out of the last production run with the latest firmware.

Here you can get pictures I made from ranger regarding my system:

@apex
Did you try using AmiTradeCenter instead PFTP? At the moment it sounds like a bug in PFTP rather than AmigaOS.

I think I tried everything possible... sometimes the network also freeze using other tools, but with PFTP it is
easy reproducible because using PFTP and VIA device I got a transfer rate from about 7.000.000 cps (about 7MB). This is
fine, this is fast! :)

I tested also some different PCI-Cards with RealTek 8139C & 8139D. Sometimes setting up the cards using the
Wizard, the PEG-II freeze totally. Later I am able to configure the network, but I only get 8.000 cps transfer rate.
But my switch is showing a 100MBit connection...

Yesterday a friend visited me and brought a 3Com 3C905B-TX network card. This card was working with
400.000 cps transfer rate (about 400kb).

Using Debian Linux 6.0.5 on the same hardware in the same network every card is working fine!

A guy from the MOS team told me that it listen like a DMA bug on the PEG-II?!?! Only a network without DMA will
work fine?

I just can say that my PEG-II is from the last production run with the last firmware, maybe they changed something?

What I can try is using AmiTradeCenter (using this only on 68k), AmiFTP is not usable because I have to transfer folders and AmiFTP has a big
bug that transfer rate will be very slow if you try to transfer folder.

Hello,

it seems that the problem is PFTP 1.2, which let crash the TCP/IP stack.
It is possible to quit PFTP, so the application itself is not crashing.

I tested everything using AmigaTradeCenter and the transfer rate using
the VIA chipset is the same like with PFTP and it is possible to transfer
folders (not possible with AmiFTP). :-)

I also tried to get a freeze using other tools, but this was not possible.

2 weeks I also reported that I have a problem using PFTP to the autor,
but got no feedback till yet.

Any idea why inside the AmiTrader some fields are plain without any text?

It could be that the text colour being used is the same as the background colour. Try changing some pen colours in MUI prefs. (BTW, this is not my idea, so I can't take any credit for it.)
