I don't believe it will work due to a lack of drivers for the card. The card has its own Raid controller and the four 55 GB SSDs built in. As an aside, the X2 version is pretty slow compared to an SSD on an SATA III interface.

What danbeaver said!
I have an SSD card connected to a 3114 PCI card which works fine.

Re: Pcie ssd in x1000?
I'm guessing you mean an SSD drive (not card) attached to the Sil3114 PCI card, but as an SATA 1 interface device, I put my slower 1TB HDD on it (the add in Sil3114 card) as a large backup and use my SSD's on the sb600sata since it is an SATA 2 controller (I use one SSD for AmigaOS and one for Ubuntu).
What is nice is that I have an Sil3114 in my A4000T and I used the SATA drive attached to it to transfer over files to my X1000.

Well the sata 3 can give max about 550MB/s. Pcie based card around 1GB/s. But i guess we need dedicated drivers first.

Re: Pcie ssd in x1000?
Before that, we need the design documentation for the card so that we *CAN* write a driver.
cheers

If I had a vote, I would say that regardless of the card or drive transfer speed, the bus speed should be looked at for it to make a true use of any speed provided by the card/drive.
