Is anyone counting how many X1000 owners have posted in this thread? Not that it matters, but people are always curious to know how many new owners of X1000's were created by this "First Contact" production run. I know it is enough new systems to have AmigaKit real busy assembling, testing, packing and shipping them to their buyers.

It is nice to have new hardware, I must admit. It is specially nice to buy it new from the manufacturer, instead of waiting a few years to buy used gear, like I was forced to do when I was younger and had 3 kids and a wife to support, so I was not able to buy any Amiga computers brand new from Commodore, when they were first releasing them.

It is sort of like buying a new car as opposed to buying a used one, but without the new car smell. ;-)

...... another one coming soon... even though I did not receive my X1000 yet, but PW for this board and registration of AOS 4.1 upd5 for X1000 was already sent. So, the big moment is coming closer it seems. This will be my first "big" Amiga, as I missed out on the "big ones". I owned a A500 and still own my first A1200. My SAM440 will now be also considered as "low end". BTW I am from Germany, one of the initiators of Amiganoid meeting 2011 and developer of iBatch. Computerwise/professionwise I am into "Geodata"/"GIS" amongst other things.

My favourite holidaydestination is New Zealand, but currently I am investing the money needed for another trip into a X1000 ;-)

Hi
My name is Peter Jorgensen and I am from Denmark.
I've had my Amiga x1000 a while, but because of a faulty SATA disk it has not really been up and running. Now there is another disk on the way so startup problems should be over.
I've had use Amigas since 1991 and last year I got my 1200 ppc in a tower up and running with OS4.1 but unfortunately my hardware got tired and died. :(
It is in many ways a fantastic experience to be among the first who gets to try this exciting machine as the new Amiga x1000 seems to be.
I also been using Linux for many years and am looking from to try a Linux with my Amiga x1000.
Best greetings from Denmark to everyone here at the Forum
