Not bad but I prefer your AmigaOS4 workbench shot. ;-)

As for Compiz, I have not bothered to try it out. I've used in on other (x86) systems and the extra eye candy added a lot of graphic overhead which I eventually I got tired of and switched off. Just MHO though.

! I used the Alternate install CD, recompiled the kernel to include support for devtmpfs

Pat
Hi Pat.
Is it possible that you will share this kernel with us.
Thank you in advance :)

Hello
I have 2 menu items.
One for debian and one for mint.
Both are made in this way
CFE> setenv-p MENU_2_LABEL "Debian "
CFE> setenv-p MENU_2_COMMAND "boot-elf-noints-FATF cf0: vmlinux39"
CFE> setenv-p MENU_3_LABEL "MINT"
CFE> setenv-p MENU_3_COMMAND "boot-elf-noints-FATF cf0: vmlinux39"
How do I set setenv -p bootargs "root = /dev/sdb2" for menu 2, and
setenv -p bootargs "root = /dev/sdc1" for menu 3
So it is part of the menu item
Thanks in advance

Hi Musa

Sure :)

To be honest I had hoped to have the instructions and kernel image with Trevor before now but I didn't have much spare time over the past week. I will be sending them to Trevor this evening so they should appear in v2.0 of the installation guide very soon :D

I decided to go with a netboot installation instead of the Alternate CD as it will give you a menu to install whatever flavour(s) of *buntu that you would like i.e. Ubuntu Unity, Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Xubuntu, Edubuntu, Mythbuntu or variations of them. Endless fun! ;)

Try the following settings & let us know if it works, I might need to do the same.

setenv -p MENU_2_COMMAND 'setenv bootargs "root=dev/sdb2" ; boot -elf -noints -fatfs cf0:vmlinux39'
setenv -p MENU_3_COMMAND 'setenv bootargs "root=dev/sdc1" ; boot -elf -noints -fatfs cf0:vmlinux39'
