Thank you for the information. The X1000 kernel 4.2 packages have already an amdgpu kernel module.Srtest wrote:"xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu (0.0.01~git20150807-1~vivid) vivid; urgency=medium"

Re: Mesa for Linux PPC
Guys,
I have broken the record of the Glxgears values.
Fedora 17 PPC64 with kernel 4.2-rc8 has the best glxgears values I have ever seen on the X1000.
The best values before were on Lubuntu 12.04.5 with Mesa 8.0.4:

Christian

Hi all, luigiburdo wrote:Gianluca Renzi one of the guy who make the permedia2 drivers for Apus machine confirmed that on debian sid all issue was resolve in ppc side . he have a quad with radeonhd . now on sid last mesa are working too on g5 abd look like without issue.
many issue was resoved from kernel 4.3 and up... we have to hope that mate swap soon to new kernel. right now is 4.2.2x.
I have replaced the unofficial Mesa 10.0.4 (http://www.supertuxkart-amiga.de/amiga/ ... icial.html) with the official Mesa 11.0.6 on ubuntu MATE 16.04 PowerPC and on Debian Sid PowerPC today.
With 32-bit there isn't 3D acceleration available:
Code: Select all
OpenGL
Vendor Unknown
Renderer Unknown
Version Unknown
Direct Rendering No
After that it works but unfortunately with wrong colors and it isn't as fast as the unofficial Mesa 10.0.4.
Code: Select all
OpenGL
Vendor Xorg
Renderer Gallium 0.4 on AMD BARTS (DRM 2.43.0)
Version 3.0 Mesa 11.0.6
Direct Rendering Yes

Re: Mesa for Linux PPC
Hi all,
I was able to patch the latest Mesa version 11.0.7 because of the problems with the wrong colors. It works with the right colors in 32-bit color depth.
Download: MesaLib-11.0.7-powerpc-unofficial.tar.bz2
PLEASE use the unofficial Mesa version 10.0.4 if you want a stable and reliable 3D acceleration.
Cheers,
Christian

Hi Christian,
Nice work!
Could you please publish your patch for correct colors in 11.0.7?

Hm, weird. Using the same patch as for 10.0.4 on 11.0.7 does not give correct colours for me...xeno74 wrote:I used the old patch which I had used in this thread for 10.0.4.
