Linux|Amiga Communication

*** I see this reference: Re: X1000 Wiki Page

I need to provide backup of both Linux and Amiga data.
We discussed this at our club meeting this evening. I seek observations about the practicality of one promising idea.

I have two 1-Terabyte SATA drives. Currently the X1000 stock drive which is ALL Amiga and a 2nd, empty, drive which will be for Linux (when I again get a distribution installed).

The suggestion is: provide a FAT32 partition on the Linux drive that can be seen by Linux. When I boot the Amiga, arrange matters so that FAT32 partition is seen. The Amiga backs up files (or iso images or whatever) to the FAT32 partition on the Linux drive. It is safe then. In an X1000 disaster (other than fire/theft), I could remove the Linux drive, install it in a different Linux computer, and have access to the FAT32 partition to deal with in any number of ways from there (like another Amiga computer).

Is this worth pursuing as a "proof of concept"?
