Blu-Ray works fine for R/W in Ubuntu 12.04 and can be read in OS4.1 on my X1000. Have not tried any movies, just data.

Can you test an original bluray movie?

If you will send me one, I'll test it.

Film is not about the number of pixels nor the clarity of the image; it represents an expression of story, art, and composition meant primarily to entertain, occasionally, to teach or inform, and rarely as a pure idea of the individual that reveals their raw emotions painted out in motion on a familiar canvas. It should make one feel, think, react or learn more about themselves and their world.

I use my X1000's Blu-Ray drive for data; movies get ripped from DVD's and sent to my household server.
