The search bar beside the URL field doesn't work. The search field on the New Tab page doesn't work either. I have to use a search engine directly. I can't copy a link with the right-click context menu.

Could you test the new Firefox, please?
The Power Mac users have the same problems with the new Firefox: ubuntuforums.org. :-(

Surely there is a way to go back to a usable version? But I'm having no luck figuring out how.

FYI:
I had the problems described above on a Mac Mini G4 running Precise.

Upgrading the firefox package to version 38 provided by the mozilla-
security PPA

https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-mozilla-s ... ubuntu/ppa

solved the problems.

Color me totally delighted to have a Firefox that works again.

Now I wonder if someone can tell me how to make an adjustment. Previously Firefox would come up as often as not with a decent sized window, desktop showing a big on all sides. Lately, including this 38.0, it always spreads all the way across the 1920 screen, except for the columns of icons on the left. I have tried to find out how to fix this, but no luck so far.

(Five minutes later) OK, maybe I've accidentally figured something out. I clicked on "Open new window" and got one of decent size. It vanished when I quit the big window, but when I restarted Firefox it came up the way I want it to!

Generally, using F11 in Firefox will toggle between full screen and a smaller window (just like in Odyssey, BTW).

Unfortunately Firefox 40 and iceweasel 40 aren't available for Linux PPC at the moment.

There are build problems:

Iceweasel 40 build status: https://packages.debian.org/de/experimental/iceweasel

The same problem on Ubuntu: launchpad.net
