How do I get my Radeon HD and Radeon 9200 PCI to in Linux?!?

Post by JohnFante »

I have a Radeon 5450 and a Radeon 9200 Pro PCI installed. Works as supposed in 4.1 :-)

However I am having some issues with 3D on Linux.

I have A-EONs Ubuntu Remix 12.04 and there 3D works out of the box. The fps are not huge (around 650 en glxgears) but it works.

However I can not get 3D to work in Debian Sid.

I have tried this:

And all the good advice for xeno74 here:

Is there another way?

BTW: Ubuntu Remix feels rather slow. It takes a long time for programs to load (5 seconds for firefox) and the GUI seems sluggish to say the least. Is that normal?

I installed my Lubuntu on a SSD last year. It's really fast ( http://youtu.be/Pz6XTCYZFt4 ).

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with a Radeon HD and Radeon 9200 PCI Xorg configuration. I know only the following thread:

Sorry. :-(

Running Linux on AmigaONEs can require some tinkering.
