Does that mean u were able to install 14.10 with that modified initrd.gz?
By the way, is there some tool on linux that can read out the temperature of the X1000 cpu like x1ktemp.docky for AOs4? Would be nice to see how the CPU operates with 2 cores busy
cheers,

Problem installing Lubuntu 14.10
Re: Problem installing Lubuntu 14.10
For reading Temp on X1000 You could install this -> sudo apt-get install lm-sensors sensors-applet
And Add the sensors-applet to the Taskbar.

X1000 RadeonHD5450 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2-PC2-8500 Kingston HyperX 5-5-5-5-15 OS4.1.6 & Lubuntu13.04/mintppc11 with Kernel 3.8.7/3.9
Re: Problem installing Lubuntu 14.10
Thanks! However, it only can read the temperature of the harddisks and one of my Radeon cards (reproted as: radeon-100 PCI adapter -- so, I guess it is the temp of my Radeon 9200, not the RadeonHD 4850 which would be more interesting.)zappa2009 wrote:For reading Temp on X1000 You could install this -> sudo apt-get install lm-sensors sensors-applet

Is there a way to measure the CPU temp of each core and Case-temperature?
Thanks,

Re: Problem installing Lubuntu 14.10
Just retried to install 14.10 with the 14.10-initrd-modified.gz => still the same HD detection problem
Edit : using the old initrd.gz that Nexus mentionned seems to work, installing...

Re: Problem installing Lubuntu 14.10
Installation completed, I just selected Lubuntu Desktop during package selection.
At reboot (tested 2 times), the gfx is trashed and no text is displayed.
Is somebody encountered that ?
Thank you
HD6670 and kernel 3.19.

Use Psensors as they talk here -> http://askubuntu.com/questions/53762/ho ... lm-sensors
This should work if NEMO (X1000) are compatible with lm-sensors.

New install by selecting only "XUbuntu" and "Extra fonts" packages.
Same results :

Re: Problem installing Lubuntu 14.10
I had the same problem that the fonts were not displayed. The solution is to set the option "RenderAccel" to "false" in the xorg.conf file.zzd10h wrote:Installation completed, I just selected Lubuntu Desktop during package selection.

Code: Select all

Re: Problem installing Lubuntu 14.10
You have to create a xorg.conf file in the directory /etc/X11. For example my xorg.conf.tar.gz.zzd10h wrote:Thank you for the tip, Xeno
