I use a usb hub that sometimes fail to initialize and I've noticed you didn't enable it in the kernel config and even without that it sometimes works at boot tryout. "STLAB superspeed usb 3.0 hub" connected via 2.0.

Which variables do I have to enable in the kernel config for your USB hub?

Another attempt:

vmlinux-3.18.0-CC-KVM-PR-OVERLAYFS-AMIGA_one_X1000.tar.bz2

Please compare it with the RC7-2.

I enabled some optimizations in the kernel config. Please test the cross compiled 3.18 final kernel.

"CONFIG_USB_EHCI_ROOT_HUB_TT is not set"

Tested. Again, seems fine. Don't know about the fps test. There's again a somewhat lower average and yet I always get half of what you are all reporting and everything seems to run like it should especially Nexuiz. It is hard to tell because you have all those intervening attributes of the recent cycle of kernels and fixes.

Maybe we also need to test the latest kernel image which isn't compiled automatically for Power processors.

I'll add it to the next kernel version. ;-)

Hi All,

I compiled the kernel 3.18 final nativ on my AMIGA one X1000 this morning.

New:
  • Support for the EHCI implementation that's originally from ARC. These EHCI chips have vendor-specific extensions to integrate transaction translators, so that no OHCI or UHCI companion controller is needed.
  • Support for mobile networks with USB UMTS 3G sticks
It also includes:
  • KVM_BOOK3S_64_PR
Support running guest kernels in virtual machines on processors without using hypervisor mode in the host, by running the guest in user mode (problem state) and emulating all privileged instructions and registers.
This is not as fast as using hypervisor mode, but works on machines where hypervisor mode is not available or not usable, and can emulate processors that are different from the host processor, including emulating 32-bit processors on a 64-bit host.
  • Mac-on-Linux support
  • Network support for AROS hosted
  • Support for 4 serial ports
  • Bluetooth USB dongle support
  • Kernel tracing with ftrace
  • Linux kernel icon for OS4.1 by Tommysammy
Other changes: http://lkml.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kern ... 05308.html

Download: vmlinux-3.18.0-KVM-PR-OVERLAYFS-AMIGA_one_X1000.tar.bz2

Thanks to everyone for testing many release candidates.

Enjoy the new kernel.

Cheers,

Christian
