Debian 8 jessie

Postby musa » Sun Apr 12, 2015 11:28 am

I installed debian 8 jessie. installation went smoothly, but ligtdm would first start after I had made a xorg.conf. To my surprise programs like luminance-HDR has resolved their pallette bug and can now be used to work in.I am very happy because it is some of the types of programs I primarily use in Linux.

How did you do that? Can you give a description or a howto?
The picture made by xeno looks so good that I want to have that too.

Hello.
You can use this network install iso to install debian 8
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/8.1.0/powerpc/iso-cd/debian-8.1.0-powerpc-netinst.iso
I would not recommend debian 8 since I can not get my graphics card to work decently with debian 8. Therefore, I am not the best person to advise on how to get optimal debian 8.The best Linux performance at the moment is in my opinion Ubuntu Mate 15.10. The question of how linux looks is only a matter of which deskttop environment you choose, and then what theme.
I have chosen to drop Mate in Debian and uses Xfce. Maybe you can ask Christian (Xeno74 ) about if his Debian function optimally.

I wanted to try Debian Jessie too, but I want to install a second hard drive for Linux stuff before.

Didn't you have problem running the default installer? No problem with the kernel and modules?

Hi
There is a problem with the modules. At one point, the installation stops, here you have to open a terminal and type mkdir /lib/modules/ module name of the module folder that was with the kernel you are using. Type exit and continue the installation.
After that I have no problems.
you're welcome to ask.
