Hi All,

I have great news! I updated my ubuntu MATE 16.10 today. There was an update of systemd. ;-) After a reboot, the stable longterm kernel 4.1.32 works again with systemd on ubuntu MATE 16.10.
If you want to use the stable longterm kernel 4.1.32 with ubuntu MATE 16.10, please update systemd. ;-)

Hi All,

The stable longterm kernel 4.1.33 is available.

New:

- ChangeLog-4.1.33
- Linux Git log

Download: vmlinux-4.1.33-AmigaONE_X1000.tar.gz

I successfully tested the new kernel 4.1.33 with systemd on ubuntu MATE 16.10 today. Unfortunately it doesn't work with systemd on Fedora 25 Server.

Cheers,

Christian

Hi All,

Happy holidays! :-)

A new update of the stable longterm kernel 4.1 is available.

New:
Download: vmlinux-4.1.37-AmigaONE_X1000.tar.gz

Screenshot of ubuntu MATE 17.04 PowerPC with the new stable longterm kernel 4.1.37:

The kernel 4.1 is very different to the latest mainline kernels (kernel 4.9 and 4.10). If you have problems with the latest mainline kernels, please try the stable longterm kernel 4.1.

@Amigo1 and Srtest
Please test the new stable longterm kernel 4.1.37.

Thanks,
Christian

I can see that it is possible to download zesty-serverpowerpc.iso. Is it possible to install from this iso. which initrd file should I use. I've tried with the one provided on the CD but it freezes when it tries to find my hd.

Happy New Year to all

Hi Musa,

Happy New Year to you too! :-)

Many thanks for testing the stable longterm kernel 4.1.37.

Unfortunately I haven't tried the Zesty ISO yet. I only upgraded my ubuntu MATE 16.10 to 17.04.

Instructions: (X)(L)ubuntu (MATE) 17.04 Zesty Zapus

Cheers,
Christian

Hi Christian
It is not possible to upgrade any more :( All software sources seems to be gone) And the only iso I could find was the zesty-serverpowerpc.iso.
It seems that ubuntu ppc is about to be history :(
Therefore, I thought that it was possible to get zesty that way.
cheers
