12.04 Wireless/Wired Question [SOLVED]

Post by jdupuis »

HI,
Have the wireless network card I bought from AmigaKit for my x1000. What do I need in 12.04 to get my wireless card working. I am not WEP. I am WPA/WPA2 Personal with passphrase.
Or, do I just stick to Wired for now? AND, does it hurt to have both the RTL8139 and Nemo GB Ethernet connected to my router and just configure one of these network eth Mac Addresses Ubuntu Remix Networks?
Just inquisitive as to how you all have configured Networks is all. Where are the magic Synaptic Repositories that have all the Codec and Third Party goodies?
What Kernel should I now move up to for 12.04? Currently 3.13.15 for obvious reasons - newly installed.
Thanks. Merry Christmas!

Cheers!!

I would use my Cisco USB Dongle, but I can't find where I put it. If it would work, I'll keep looking. Until then.....

Hi Christian,

Disregard on that Wireless Card. The ONLY reason I would use it is for my Wireless HP 6520 printer, not necessary. It has (ePrint). I can send docs to printer using my ePrint account. It is a no-brainer. I am using the Nemo GB Ethernet only in 12.04 LTS and, of course, using the RTL8139 on the AmigaOS side. No sense in complicating things, right?

I still stand on the other questions I asked.

All-in-all, I'm having fun! That's what it is all about.
That wireless card is too slooow for Linux anyway. There. I said it.

Cheers!!
