That is not a problem.

There should be a program in system tools or administration called synaptic package manager. Yes?

Open that up and in the Search box enter gnome-commander, and click the Apply icon.

Gnome-commander is a lot like dopus. Once you get it installed and running, in the File menu you can restart gnome-commander as root. Be careful, but this will allow you to do many things only root can do.

You're learning fast, Grasshopper.

I guess what comes next is up to you.

Play around, we are here.

I followed the aeon guide to install mesa graphics drivers. Glxgears runs OK now. I take it that this means gfx hw acceleration is working. I noticed Xeno74 hosts an unofficial mesa archive. Should I install that?

Oh, I didn't know that your HD6850 doesn't work with my kernels.

You installed Debian 7.9.0, didn't you? For Debian 7.9.0 you don't need to install the unofficial Mesa. ;-)

Running Linux on AmigaONEs can require some tinkering.

They do work, but to get proper acceleration I need to rebuild with only the firmware files relative to the 6850. Why(?) I don't know, but I suspect some clash with one of the other files. I spent days trying to nail down which file(s), and just gave up looking.

It is what it is. Not really a problem.

Thanks. What sort of performance should I expect? I tried Torcs, but got <2fps?
