Hi
Trying Enlightenment window manager.
Suse is very different for me. I started to learn suse little better but it costs some reinstalling when it's all messed up. I think Enlightenment is a very interesting windows manager.

Here are the openSUSE default software repositories:

Code: Select all

http://download.opensuse.org/ports/ppc/tumbleweed/repo/oss
http://download.opensuse.org/ports/ppc/tumbleweed/repo/non-oss
http://download.opensuse.org/ports/ppc/tumbleweed/repo/debug
Have a lot of fun with openSUSE Tumbleweed PPC64!

Cheers,
Christian

Do you know how I get rid of the login shell that comes after boot? I try to get suse to start with lightdm, but after each boot I have stop x and then start lightdm.
Thanks

Hi Musa,

You can set up your display manager in the config file /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager. Please open this config file as root and set up your favorite display manager with editing the line DISPLAYMANAGER. For example:

Code: Select all

DISPLAYMANAGER="lightdm"
Note: If you want to use a display manager, please remove the config file .xinitrc in the home directory of your user.

Cheers,
Christian

Thanks for your reply christian. I have already lightdm as the default display manager, I can see that the system writes to last during boot (ok Reached target Multi-user system.)
I am new to Suse, but does it mean that the system is in run level 3 where it should be in run level 5? runlevel5.target -> graphical.target. runlevel3.target -> multi-user.target .

Hi
I find a solution.
I use this systemctl set-default runlevel5.target
Now I get to lightdm login
