Hi AlfredOne,

I've found:

Your both graphics cards work with the RADEON kernel driver. I have found instructions to configure Xorg for both graphics cards.

Hi Christian.
I modified xorg.conf manually by changing driver Fields from "fbdev" To "radeon".
Moreover i had To change PCI address for The 2nd card
To 3.0.0.( It was erroneusly The same as The 1st card )
With these changes i managed To have two screens And accelerated graphic on The second card.

'Xorg -configure' doesnt work, It tell me that doesnt find devices To configure.

p.s.: i have Big problems in booting linux because My Sata HDs (two AmigaOs4 hds) Very rarely are recognized during Linux boot and logical name of linux boot partition shifts from /dev/sdc3 To /dev/sda3.
I can't understand why!!!
If i change bootargs To match /dev/sda3, Linux mount The boot partition and start to boot But crashes.
It seems like it Can boot only if The boot partition Name (/dev/sdc3) matches The Name It had when was installed from cd.

Hi AlfredOne,

That's fantastic! Well done! Does it mean, that you can use hardware 3D acceleration on OS4.1 and Linux?

You can boot with the unique UUID of your partition if you like.

First, you have to find out the UUID of your partition with blkid. After that you have to set up your bootargs in the CFE.

For example:

Code: Select all

CFE> setenv bootargs "root=UUID=ae875d31-cc84-4349-95d7-01a82ad76d61 quiet ro splash"
If your partition has a LABEL (name) then you can also boot your Linux with this LABEL. For example:

Code: Select all

CFE> setenv bootargs "root=LABEL=Ubuntu quiet ro splash"
You can find out the LABEL with blkid as well.

Good luck!

Christian

Hi Christian,
LABEL option doesn't work.

The problem seems some initialization timing issue with kernel of live DVD.
Is it my mistake booting with kernel of live DVD?

I'm trying different kernels and discovered that the stable kernel 4.8.12 with 'rootdelay=5' doesn't suffer this problem.

These are my tests with the kernel stable 4.8.12-radeon:
[OK] setenv bootargs = "root/dev/sdc3 rootdelay=5"
[NOT OK] setenv bootargs = "root/dev/sdc3 quiet ro splash"
[OK] setenv bootargs = "root/dev/sdc3 quiet ro splash rootdelay=5"

Hi AlfredOne,

You have a typo in your boot arguments. Please try root=/dev/sdc3 instead of root0/dev/sdc3.

I'm sorry! It was my error in typing the post with my phone.

Sorry ,forget it!!!
Today i wasn't able to boot 4.8.12 too. Then i booted Live DVD , and then rebooted.
After the first boot with Live DVD, now i can boot both kernel 4.8.12 and 4.9.RC8-2.
It seems to me that booting the live DVD solves the problem of detecting SATA HDDs.

This thing makes any sense?
