Kernel 4.13

Post by xeno74 »

Hi All,

The merge window for the kernel 4.13 is open now. :-) Here is the first alpha for testing.

New:
Download: vmlinux-4.13-alpha1-AmigaONE_X1000.tar.gz

Please note: It is very important that you test the alphas and release candidates. Nobody tested the alphas and release candidates of kernel 4.12. :-( PLEASE test the kernels.

Cheers,
Christian

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE test the third alpha.
I've "tested" 4.13 alpha 3, at least to the extent of
booting fine and startup of a few programs
(Firefox, GIMP, Gears, Terminal, etc).

Seems to be ok. Will try alpha 4 today.

oops. Both Alpha5 and Alpha6 boot, but they dump me into a terminal screen without starting the GUI.

Don't yet know enough about Linux logging, but I've listed the contents of /var/log/Xorg.0.log below.

On the next boot (with 4.11) I get popup messages warning about an Internal Error in 17.04 re XOrg
and ntpd and syslogd.

Hi Tom,

Thank you for testing! :-) Could you please post the dmesg output of the alpha5? Additionally could you please test the alpha4?

Maybe the first PowerPC updates are the problem.

Thanks,
Christian
