In this statement you recommend we "right-click on the xserver-xorg-video-radeon package and select Mark for Upgrade." for handling the white cursor issue.

I show that one is already running on this basic install.
The problem is the one on the install CD has the white mouse pointer problem. You need to upgrade to the latest backported version. Once you've enabled backports (see guide) the 'xserver-xorg-video-radeon' will have green box with a little gold star on it meaning it can be upgraded.
Did you mean to instead download the "xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd" ?

I see this HD version as something I can download and is the only other radeon one I see.

Don't install the RadeonHD driver. This is an old project, all functionallity from this is in the current radeon driver.

Bitch'n, thanks guys.

I thought I did that but must of not did 100%.

Will re-read that section of the guide and retry.

Now I am at 98% done. 8-)

Booting from my menu and all that. Nice to have this as an added OS for the X1000.

Now at 100%.

Booting quickly from vmlinux39 Kernal, booting from main menu as it should, etc...

I now have a Amiga OS 4.1u5 X1000 that can also boot Debian Linux.

Thanks for those that helped.

Hope my little adventure helps others as they do their own.

Quickie video showing my X1000 booting Debian Linux.
