Fully EXT3 Support
Fully EXT3 Support
Please add EXT3-Support same like SFS1.290 (with >4GB) native in OS4.1.x
X1000 RadeonHD5450 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2-PC2-8500 Kingston HyperX 5-5-5-5-15 OS4.1.6 & Lubuntu13.04/mintppc11 with Kernel 3.8.7/3.9
Re: Fully EXT3 Support
@Steven
Same reasons as for all other popular FSs. NTFS can be good too, of course.

Re: Fully EXT3 Support
Both EXT3 and NTSF support would make it much easier to read datas from say, Windows and MacOS X systems. It would also be a lot easier for programmers and coders to port applications and such. At least that is how i understand it.ssolie wrote:Why is EXT3 support needed?

Re: Fully EXT3 Support
Exchange with the installed LinuxPPC on the same Computer and read/write on USB-Sticks too.
And yes NTFS too also be usefull.
For both Filesystems makes easier to share Big-Files >4GB
For smaller <2GB Fat32 is enough

Mac dosn't use EXT3, not saying it wouldn't be handy though..HKvalhe wrote:Both EXT3 and NTSF support would make it much easier to read datas from say, Windows and MacOS X systems. Near at hand is your forgetting all; near, too, all forgetting you.
Re: Fully EXT3 Support
But there is a EXT3-Driver for Macs too R/W ! so they can use it if

For example, acess to files on Linux partition from AmigaOS side, or having one data partitionssolie wrote:Why is EXT3 support needed?
for both Linux and AmigaOS. Since all PPC boards are also Linux supported, that would greatly help
those who do boot in Linux for some productivity apps unavail in AmigaOS yet, or simply like to use Linux too.
Also, reading data from PC hard drives (at least those partitions with Linux)
EXT3 and NFTS support is a must in future

Re: Fully EXT3 Support
I would like ntfs and exFat support as this is the most i use on windows.
Also support for MTU and PTP on samsung mobilephone devices like Galaxy S3. They dont use masstorage like before but MTU that looks and feels almost the same as normal masstorage, at least on windows. On amiga it opens a PTP screen and a error message and fails to show anything. And it never shows a partition but wants to show PTP in both PTP/MTU mode that fails.
