URLOpen prefs

Could OS4 devs include up-to-date URLOpen default prefs (SYS:Prefs/Env-Archive/launch-handler/URL/defaults) in the next OS4.x release or through AmiUpdate so people don't need to start topics at Amiga WEB sites asking how to enter browsers and commands in URLOpen prefs that will work? It's really ridiculous that the default prefs only include OS3 browsers and less used browsers. The default prefs should include all browsers that currently work with OS4.x.

Done, just updated the defaults, here's the http config for example...

ClientName="Odyssey" ClientPath="APPDIR:OdysseyLauncher2" CMDFORMAT="*"http://%s*""

ClientName="IBROWSE" ClientPath="APPDIR:ibrowse" CMDFORMAT="URL=*"http://%s*""

ClientName="AWEB" ClientPath="APPDIR:AWEB" CMDFORMAT="URL=*"http://%s*""

ClientName="NETSURF" ClientPath="APPDIR:NETSURF" CMDFORMAT="URL=*"http://%s*""

It might be a good idea to add Timberwolf & OWB (Reaction OWB) to the browser tabs and SimpleMail to the MAILTO tab.

I did add OWB and TimberWolf (even though TW required some special treatment because it is launched via a script).
I don't have Simplemail installed here, could you please provide a working config example from your config ?
You will find the config line in; envarc:launch-handler/url/MAILTO.LH

I don't have Simplemail installed either but I downloaded it and tested sending a MAILTO command from URLOpen. For me it works the same as YAM. I used this setting in URLOpen prefs:

ClientName="Simplemail" ClientPath="APPDIR:Simplemail" CMDFORMAT="MAILTO=%s"

However, I found that both Yam & Simplemail only work correctly with simple MAILTO links that only contain an address and a subject. If a MAILTO link has CC, BCC or BODY elements then those elements are just attached to the subject in an unformatted way by the Amiga browsers I tested. When those MAILTOs are sent to YAM or Simplemail the extra elements appear in the subject line of the message. Since YAM & Simplemail don't have commandline arguments for the CC, BCC or BODY elements there isn't much that can be done about it.

YAM does have AREXX commands that can add the CC, BCC & BODY elements so it's possible that someone could write a script or command that could parse out the elements from the URLOpen command and send them to YAM through ARexx. I'm not sure it's worth the effort since very few WEB pages use MAILTO links anymore.
