PCIe riser
PCIe riser
Has anybody got any experience with using a PCIe riser on the CyrusPlus board? I'm thinking of putting the board into a slim desktop ATX case, but all the cases I could find require my PCI/PCIe cards to be placed horizontally on a riser. If that can be done, I'd appreciate if someone could recommend a specific make/model of the riser. Thanks!

Re: PCIe riser
I've been toying with the idea of getting a PCI-E 1x -> 16x and adding an X1550 so I can (a) dual screen and (b) boot MorphOS.

Re: PCIe riser
Neither option will currently work. ( assuming that the second screen option would be for use under AmigaOS 4.1)

Re: PCIe riser
Aren't X1000 users adding a 2nd GFX card on their 2nd PCI-E 16x and being able to use 2 monitors? Or would that simply not work with a 1x --> 16x?Spectre660 wrote:Neither option will currently work. ( assuming that the second screen option would be for use under AmigaOS 4.1)

Re: PCIe riser
Yep. Some X1000 users were/are using dual Radeon cards under AmigaOS 4.1 and Linux .
On the X5000 a second Radeon card (PCIEX1 or PCI) is currently ignored or not initialized by both AmigaOS 4.1FE and Morphos 3.x .
Could be a U-Boot issue ?
The second card will currently work under Linux . My experimenting narrowed the configuration down to 256mb maximum ram on the second card to have everything in slots working .also depending on what you have in the slots the order that they are in may have an effect on if everything works. I have not tried Linux with a video card with more ram when not using an Ethernet card .
