I do not have a X5000, however I do have 3 SBLive! SB-0220 cards that are all working in my X1000 and other Linux boxes.
They are all emu10k1-jff chips. Looking around for drivers it seems the EMU10k1x-dbq cards need special drivers even for window$.

Is the model number SB-0220 on your card?
Nope, SB-0200 so appears that link we had was not a good one for the correct card, bummer, but only $7.

I went to Frys today and picked up a Diamond Xtreme Sound 5.1 PCI XS51 and it works so far fine, even after watching a YouTube video. $14.99 plus gas for me.

Guessing this Sound Blaster I have is now for the bin as my Aussie friends call it.

Pine Crystal CS4281 PCI Sound Card apparently works.
0x1013 0x6005 Cirrus Logic Crystal CS4281 PCI Audio
PCI card uses same sound chip as the Sam440 onboard sound.

Strange the link i posted was wrong, I could have swore it showed and listed them as the 0220 version. Mine came as a 0220 and the link I posted was from the auction I got it from. I am trully sorry if it was my mistake here, but I can confirm if you get the 0220 version it should work well.

Interestingly the Diamond Xtreme Sound 5.1 PCI XS51 uses the CMI8738 chip .

Don't "bin" it just yet - there may be a driver available for it one day ;)

Yeh, it was a joke as I have a amiga friend in Australia that has used the "bin" word to dispose of working goodies... hehe

I still have it... and will keep just in case.

Note that there are drivers for Envy24 and Envy24HT - two quite different chipsets, as per what I've been told. The Envy24 (without HT) isn't that much used, but I did (do?) have an M-Audio Delta something which needed it. The Envy24HT is what e.g. the Juli@ and other more or less common cards use.

Your chip seems to be an Envy24GT - I don't know if that is compatible with either of the two drivers - you might be lucky, but then again you might not.

Just so you're prepared ...

Best regards,

Niels

You are right.. but for 12.50 euro i gave it a try... than again it is not that well documented http://www.intuitionbase.com/comphard.php?category=3
For example on intuitionbase the M-Audio Evo 5.1 has a Envy24HT chipset... but its a GT chipset..

Anyway... we will find out soon...
