Just wondering if any X5000 users have bought a mechanical keyboard that works on the X5000.
I did some research and found out that:
The Ducky Zero should work.... but is a 2016 model and hard to find.
The Ducky One should work... but with a certain dip switch on the back of the keyboard set to 6 key rollover instead of N key rollover. (this is something i would like to know for sure)
The Rosewill-rk-9000v2 should work (at least i found a post where V1 worked) but has to be shipped overseas to the Netherlands.
Any input would be very welcome.
Thanks
Dave

Yes, I bought a beautiful custom "Amiga-ised"mechanical keyboard from http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/ . Works great. I don't care about roll-over, though. It had to be shipped, and the price was astronomical (US$50).
Re: Mechanical keyboard and X5000
I have used a Ducky One with my X5000 from the beginning... The rollover dip setting had indeed to be changed, after that it has worked ok. The only problem is that with Linux there seems to be an 'extra' key press created after hardwareboot. That disturbs logging of some distros, you have to input the account or password second time to get through. I have not tested this with other keyboards, so I'am not sure whether the problem is specific to Ducky One.Skateman wrote:Just wondering if any X5000 users have bought a mechanical keyboard that works on the X5000.

Thanks for all the input.
The most important thing for me is a good working keyboard within OS4. If i have to do an extra keystroke for linux, i can live with that.

Re: Mechanical keyboard and X5000
Might I ask where you can buy that thanks

@skateman
@Tijatjj
The Ducky Macro is really cool, you can re-assign almost every key to another, LAlt to LAmiga, Y to Z and switch between 6 keyboard layouts at the press of two buttons.
WASD Code Keyboard (typing feels like on a A2000 keyboard. Cherry MX-Clear switches, which are silent and tactile)
Ducky One
Ducky One 2 (single LED and RGB-LED, both Ducky Macro 2.0)
Ducky Shine 4 (Single LED, Ducky Macro 1.5)
Ducky Shine 5 (RGB-LED, Ducky Macro 1.5)
@Tijatjj
I tested the following keyboards with the X5000 and X1000 and they all work without problems, in both modes N-Key and 6-Key roll-over. I alway use N-Key rollover.Tijatjj wrote:Might I ask where you can buy that thanks

Re: Mechanical keyboard and X5000
Any of your mechanical keyboard actually work to get into early boot menu? or even select 1 or 2 at uBoot selector if booting to different drives?
Mine does not.
My X5K is VERY finicky on what USB devices are even connected to mine and one wrong device and will refrain from booting into early boot.
Hates my logitech wireless devices even being connected although they work fine once booted.
I I have to have an old keyboard or two handy and disconnected my Logitech wireless dongles and most all else to boot early boot.
Kind of a pain.
