Can you tell me the output of following

$ lspci -nn | grep VGA

Probably our kernels do not have your gfx card's firmware.

I get:

Code: Select all
ubuntu-mate@ubuntu-mate:~$ lspci -nn | grep VGA
0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Curacao XT / Trinidad XT [Radeon R7 370 / R9 270X/370X] [1002:6810]
ubuntu-mate@ubuntu-mate:~$

My card is the R9 270X - as far as I recall.

Your card need the following firmwares:

Code: Select all
radeon/pitcairn_ce.bin radeon/pitcairn_mc.bin radeon/pitcairn_me.bin radeon/pitcairn_pfp.bin radeon/pitcairn_rlc.bin radeon/pitcairn_smc.bin radeon/pitcairn_k_smc.bin radeon/TAHITI_uvd.bin radeon/TAHITI_vce.bin

Link: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Radeon

I will ask Sinan if he can include the firmwares for your card to the kernel.
