boot the installer ramdisks below with the example U-boot options following to install.

I think that maybe it's the Preinstalled Image that I want, but I don't seem to be able to download it. I clicked on Download yesterday and the lights on my router and the little squares on the lower right corner of Odyssey started blinking like crazy. I was dismayed that it didn't ask me where I wanted to download it to, but on the chance that Odyssey knew where to put it, I let it continue. Something over six hours later it was still flashing and I gave up.

I had no trouble with the FAT32 .img, and have a flash drive ready. I seem to also have succeeded in downloading the Net installer (with no idea of whether it is something I could use or not, or if I could, how). How can I get the right thing onto my flash drive?

Try the new Google Drive link below. Odyssey is does not handle the new Dropbox links .
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxoZd ... Up4azd1M00

I have changed all the main links to Google Drive ones so that the files can be downloaded under AmigaOS 4.1 .

Thanks, that worked very well. But I have another problem: every time I try to run p7zip-4.65-OS4 on it, I get a DSI and an alert: "Can't open threads.library." Any idea why? I googled "threads.library" and it sounds like something no one would want any more, and no hint about how to get one.

Sorry to bother you again, but all I can get now is

Code: Select all

7-Zip (A) 4.65 Copyright (c) 1999-2009 Igor Pavlov 2009-02-03
p7zip Version 4.65 (locale=C,Utf16=off,HugeFiles=off,1 CPU)

Processing archive: APPS:Ubuntu-Mate_16.04-3.img.7z

Error: E_FAIL
I tried setting HugeFiles "on" in Tooltypes, to no avail, and all the manuals are about 7z, not 7za, so I don't know where I should look for instructions.

@kilaueabart

I am also having this problem so something may have changed on the AmigaOS 4.1FE side.

Will see if I can test and upload the file in .gz format .
May take a couple of days as it takes about 14 hours to upload at my upload speed .

Bzip2 compression/Decompression works .
Trying to uploading a .bzip2 compressed .img .
May take me a couple of days to get it uploaded to Dropbox then transfer it to Google Drive (This part could be another adventure) .
You will need either a SFS/02 formatted partition (Tested ok) or one formatted with the news NGFS files system (Tested ok also) to uncompressed to as the uncompressed file size is over 7GB. You need to have the the A-Eon Enhancer software package to have the SFS/02 file system on the X5000 .
Also you need the AmigaOS4.1 bzip2 decompression tool you can down load here :
http://os4depot.net/share/utility/archive/bzip2.lha

command line for decompressing
bzip2 -d Ubuntu-Mate_16.04.img.bz2
