Pegasos2 with Radeon 9800 Mac bios

Post by Benny »

Hello,

Does the Radeon 9800 pro 128M DDR with a MAC-bios work in a Pegasos2 with OS4.1 ?

The 9800 is much faster in 2D, there is it meant to be for.

yes, but...
Without 3D support you cant use belnder, games, bankers....
I think a 2D card without 3D was useless...

I get a Radeon9000pro and was really better than "standard" 9250 in 2D and also 3D on my Peg2...if you have a radeon92x0 try to use Radeon9000pro firstly...

We only support normal x86 BIOS and there are no plans to change that.

Thank you, the 8500LE is also one of the fastest, but hard to get.

also 8500 series wasnt supported on AmigaOS4.1 unfortunately...
The fastest supported AGP card avaialbe on Pegasos2 was(as sayd above) the Radeon9000pro card, nothing more nothing less...
Every other theorically supported card that was faster than 9000pro like the 9100 wasnt supported under AmigaOS4.1 unfortunately...

Well today I finally got my Radeon 9000 Pro with 128MB videoram, DVI and VGA outputs.
I copied the devs/monitors/radeon 9250 monitorfile to a new Radeon 9000 monitorfile, and changed the board-tooltype to 9000, after that the system booted with the 9000 card recognized in Workbench.

Is this way recommended ?

The OS-functions from the GfxBench2D benchmark are now aprox. 1.7 as fast.

Another way that should work with all compatible Radeon cards

Change the Monitor file name to Radeon
set tooltype BOARDTYPE=Radeon
Set tooltype CMPLENGTH=6
Sam460ex : Radeon Rx550 Single slot Video Card : SIL3112 SATA card
