Apparently I am not able to have the kernel recognize my SATA drives unless I specify "-nousb" on the CFE command line. Is there an explanation for this?

Also for some reason I seem to not be able to use my standard wired mac keybioard in linux. It works perfectly well with AmigaOS.

Not at the moment, I will investigate.

Judging by what I've seen about Apple hardware it probably needs an additional option turning on in the kernel, I'm just not sure what, I couldn't see anything that seemed to fit. You could try googing the keyboard's name and 'linux' to see if anyone else has had this problem.

For the keyboard, I have an iMac 2006 wired keyboard and it works well under MintPPC (with previous kernel 39 and actual 3.5.7)

It's true that it doesn't work under Ubuntu, it's OK during install but not in the first login screen (no mouse too)

Alfkil, what is your apple keyboard ?

Does Ubuntu 12.04 have 3D acceleration with kernel 3.5.7?

Running Linux on AmigaONEs can require some tinkering.

Yeah, it has :)

I've added my user to the group video. After that the 3D acceleration works :)

Accidentally killed my mac keyboard yesterday with a mix of clumsiness, tipsy and a perfectly good glass of scoth... Wonder if my insurance covers "easy living"... :-/

Don't know whether to laugh or cry for you? I've done something similar in the past.

Oh well, no use crying over spilled scotch (or drunken Mac keyboards - hey, now you've got an excuse for misspellings, btw).

Anyway, it could have been much worse - what if the scotch had been spilled into the X1000? <shudder>

Best regards,

Niels

@nbache

Are you implying, that I misspell a lot? Hrmf! ;)

Dried the drunken bastard off on the radiator, and now it seems to work again. Well, at least mostly...

Not at all, wouldn't dream of it. Only that your drunken Mac keyboard might ... 8-)

All's well that ends well. Guess the "mostly" means it has a slight hangover?
