Luigi Burdo was able to start our latest openSUSE Tumbleweed PPC64 img on his AmigaONE X5000. :-)

Further information:

If a program crashes then systemd creates a coredump file. This file is really big. You can remove it in the directory /var/lib/systemd/coredump/. I added Storage=none to the systemd configuration file /etc/systemd/coredump.conf. I hope it disables automatic core dumps.

Hi All,

The German magazine Linux Magazin has released S.u.S.E. Linux 4.2 because of the 25th anniversary of Linux. I tested it in a virtual QEMU machine on openSUSE Tumbleweed PowerPC64 today. It boots and works but unfortunately there aren't any XF86 server binaries available (XF86_SVGA, XF86_VGA16 etc). I wanted to test X11 with the virtual Cirrus Logic 5446 graphics card. This graphics card works with my S.u.S.E. Linux 5.0 perfectly.

Screenshot of openSUSE Tumbleweed PPC64 kernel 4.8-rc3 from 2016 and S.u.S.E. Linux 4.2 i686 kernel 1.99.4 from 1996:

Hi All,

I have great news! I was able to download the missing XF86 driver packages for S.u.S.E. Linux 4.2. :-) After that I successfully configured XFree86. I configured the chipset clgd5424 for the virtual Cirrus Logic 5446 graphics card.
