I tried connecting a WD 1 TB External USB NTFS formatted hard drive and it won't mount. USB Investigator sees it. Ranger doesn't under usbdisk.device or usbsys.device.
I also tried a WD 4 TB USB exFAT hard drive with the same result.
I used Giggledisk and it doesn't see them.
These are external powered and I don't get a power problem popup.
A 250 GB NTFS USB harddrive and a 16 GB USB stick works.
Is there a partition size limitation or something else?
NTFileSystem3G version 53.32

I've used two different Buffalo 1 TB hard drives formatted with NTFS and with exFAT with AmigaOS without problems.
Looks like the problem is that your USB hard drive is not recognised by the mass storage device driver for some reason.

I've noticed that some new external hard-drives are USB3 and don't mention backward compatability in the docs. Even some USB3 devices that claim backward compatability don't seem to be so on OS4.x.salass00 wrote:I've used two different Buffalo 1 TB hard drives formatted with NTFS and with exFAT with AmigaOS without problems.

Both the hard drives I mentioned are USB3.xenic wrote:I've noticed that some new external hard-drives are USB3 and don't mention backward compatability in the docs. I've got one of those external USB3 hard drive (2.5 size) that doesn't mount onto OS4, but from CFE (on my A1X1000), I can read the content with the dir command. It is a FAT formated Toshiba hard drive of 1TB size.
As a betatester, I filled a report on the bugzilla some times ago (9813), as I suspected a problem with the OS4 usb stack.
I don't know if there is a dir like command on uboot.
Regards,
Xavier.

Tested a 2TB Segate SSHD drive in an external USB3 hard drive case.
NTFS formatted drive mounted ok on both an X5000 and a Sam460ex.

Just tried the 1TB drive on OS3.9 and Poseidon 4.5 and NTFilesystem 0.9 and it mounts and is usable.
Edit: Should of stated this was on a Vampired 2000 with Deneb USB
