Burn CD/DVD on a new X5000

Post by AlanR »

Hi all,

I don't know how to burn a CD/DVD for example an iso.
I tried AmiDVD I can't find my iso in the window "select a file.

I tried to erase a CD using "format ..." ,can't see my cd driver.

I tried using another appli the driver is not detected.

I'm a new X5000 user, and a new Amiga user too.

Thanks in advance.

The Onboard Sata driver on the motherboard does not let you burn cds/dvds whilst we are awaiting an update. i have my cd drive linked up via a sil3512 sata controller and you should find you are able to burn a cd/dvd that way.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

My X5000 is a new computer (baught in feb. 2018).
It's a complete system (CD/DVD drive, HDD ...)

There is glue on the boards.
I suppose it's for the guarantee.
If I remove it I lose the garantee.

But it's not so important because I will not bring the computer back to the tech support (in UK - cost of transport).

I'll buy this cart.

Thanks

I also had to detach some glue... i have changed my videocard, and added more ram.

I think the glue the components for transport.
AmigaOne X5000 -> 2GHz / 16GB RAM / Radeon RX 570 / Radeon X1950 / M-Audio 5.1 -> AmigaOS / Linux
Amiga 1200 -> Recapped / 68ec020 ACA 1221ec / CF HDD / RetroNET connected to the world

Thanks
They may have done this to help keep the cards from coming loose while in transit.

Try contacting the vendor for clarification.

I asked them the question.
I did not have the answer regarding the guarantee.

I have a Sapphire Radeon HD 7850. Works well, although it was a real pain to set up. I didn't buy my X5000 as a complete unit, I bought the motherboard and built it myself.

Both. I don't use Linux very much, but it's working. Also, I get sound from the card under Linux.

I have the Radeon R7 250 which is not supported very well on Linux. No PPC AMD drivers available.
The AmigaOS support is good!
